Glaucoma Awareness Walkathon 2026

As part of World Glaucoma Week 2026, Precise Speciality Eye Care, Adoor successfully organized a Glaucoma Awareness Walkathon on 8th March 2026 with enthusiastic participation from the public, healthcare professionals, and well-wishers.
The event began on an energetic note with a lively Zumba session, setting a vibrant and positive tone for the morning and motivating participants to take part in the awareness walk.
The program started with a warm welcome address by Dr. Jayaram V R, Chairman of Precise Group of Eye Hospitals, who emphasized the importance of early detection and regular eye examinations to prevent vision loss caused by glaucoma.
Dr. Shane Mathew, President of Pathanamthitta Opthalmic Association administered the Glaucoma Awareness Oath, encouraging participants to spread awareness about the disease and the importance of timely eye check-ups.
The walkathon was flagged off by Sri. Aneesh Abraham, Sub Inspector of Adoor Police Station, marking the beginning of the awareness march from KSRTC Bus Stand Junction, Adoor, to Precise Speciality Eye Care, Karuvatta, Adoor.
The walkathon strongly highlighted an important message: Glaucoma is a “Silent Killer of Vision.”
Many people may not notice symptoms until significant vision loss occurs. Regular eye check-ups are essential for early detection and prevention of blindness.
The event witnessed excellent community participation and successfully spread awareness about protecting vision and the importance of eye health.
Precise Speciality Eye Care thanks everyone who joined hands in making this awareness initiative a great success. Together, let’s work towards a future without preventable blindness.
