Green Eye Challenge- World Glaucoma Week Awareness Initiative-Udaipur

Green Eye Challenge – From a Simple Post to a Shared Awareness Movement
During World Glaucoma Week, a simple idea was initiated to explore whether awareness could spread through participation rather than instruction.
The Green Eye Challenge encouraged individuals to wear something green and share a message about glaucoma — not as a formal campaign, but as a collective, community-driven effort. The simplicity of the concept allowed it to move organically across social networks, with each participant extending the message further.
Within 7 days, the initiative reached over 35,000 individuals, reflecting how peer-to-peer engagement can amplify awareness beyond traditional methods.
The activity highlighted an important gap — that glaucoma, a silent cause of irreversible vision loss, often goes unnoticed until late stages — and demonstrated that even small, participatory actions can contribute to meaningful public health awareness.
