During World Glaucoma Week 2025, with the support of the Wenzhou Municipal Government, The Eye Hospital of Wenzhou Medical University illuminated two landmark buildings in Wenzhou in the signature color of World Glaucoma Week. The hospital promoted the healthy lifestyle theme “I Exercise, I Have Bright, Healthy Vision” (original: 我运动，我青亮) to raise glaucoma awareness among the general public. This marked the first time in China that landmark buildings were lit up for World Glaucoma Week.

In 2026, amid great anticipation across the city, we staged a spectacular drone light show above Jiangxin Islet – an island in the Oujiang River that runs through Wenzhou – to once again launch a citywide initiative: Early Screening, Early Prevention, Focus on Glaucoma. This was China’s first drone show dedicated to glaucoma education.
