Commemorating World Glaucoma Week which fell on 8th to 14th of March, 2026, an awareness session was conducted for the people visiting the OPD of Swami Prabhutanand District hospital, Pratap Nagar. The theme for World Glaucoma Week 2026 – “Uniting for Glaucoma free world” was highlighted during the session, and responsibility of various stakeholders were discussed in preventing this silent stealer of eyesight. The program aimed to educate the public about glaucoma which is a leading cause to irreversible blindness worldwide.
The health talk was started with an introduction about glaucoma to the participants, owing to lack of its awareness compared to many other diseases. The risk factors, causes and symptoms were explained. The participants were also educated on when to approach health care centre and educated about the early signs of the disease. The session concluded with active participation from the crowd.
