In celebration of World Glaucoma Week (March 8–14), the Batangas Medical Center Department of Ophthalmology Eye Care Center distributed and displayed informational materials in key areas and shared them online to raise public awareness about glaucoma.
Highlighting the message “Glaucoma: The Silent Thief of Sight,” the campaign emphasizes the importance of early detection, regular eye examinations, and awareness of risk factors such as age, family history, diabetes, and hypertension.
Interactive activities, including a glaucoma visual field simulation using spectacles and the falling stick challenge, were also conducted to engage participants.
The initiative also promotes the services of the Eye Care Center, encouraging early consultation to prevent irreversible vision loss.
