SUMMARY:WORLD GLAUCOMA WEEK IN ECUADOR

 ites in World Glaucoma Week\, March 10-16. This is a global initiative of 
 the World Glaucoma Association\, whose objective is to raise awareness abo
 ut the need to prevent blindness due to Glaucoma\, the first cause of prev
 entable irreversible blindness worldwide.\nThis year\, in Ecuador\, as par
 t of the activities\, we will illuminate in green two important monuments:
  The Middle of the World\, which is latitude 0 on our planet where the hem
 ispheres meet\, and that of the Virgin of Panecillo\, the tallest aluminum
  statue in the world which onlookers the city of Quito.\nThese two icons j
 oin another group of landmarks worldwide\, which will also light up in gre
 en\, the symbolic color of this initiative\, as a demonstration of solidar
 ity with the global community in this fight.\nTogether\, let's light up th
 e way to a glaucoma-free world.\n
