 Quito\, at the Middle of the World\, Latin America joins World Glaucoma We
 ek\, a global initiative of the World Glaucoma Association\, to remind the
  public that glaucoma awareness can save sight.\n\nAs part of this interna
 tional campaign\, the Latin American Glaucoma Society organized a public a
 wareness activation at the Quito Metro\, bringing information about glauco
 ma directly to the community for the second consecutive year.\n\nDuring th
 is activity\, ophthalmology residents\, glaucoma fellows\, physicians\, an
 d healthcare personnel actively participated by providing educational info
 rmation to the public about glaucoma\, its risk factors\, and the importan
 ce of early detection.\n\nAt the same time\, across Latin America\, physic
 ians\, communities\, and institutions are joining forces to raise awarenes
 s of this silent condition\, which can affect vision without symptoms in i
 ts early stages. Numerous initiatives are being carried out throughout the
  region\, including free screening campaigns\, patient education conferenc
 es\, marathons\, theater performances\, and concerts\, all aimed at increa
 sing public awareness about glaucoma.\n\nGlaucoma does not warn you. Aware
 ness can save sight.\nLatin America united for a world free from blindness
  caused by glaucoma.
