DESCRIPTION:Living Glaucoma: A Patient's Journey\n\nMiss Suraya was previou
 sly an employee of an International Financial Institute. She was diagnosed
  to have glaucoma late Nov 2019 and immediately lost her right eyesight th
 ereafter. She is very into creating awareness among the public and has bee
 n actively promoting events organized by Malaysia Glaucoma Society during 
 world glaucoma week since 2022 and was a lucky draw winner in one of the p
 hoto competition that year when the nation light up green in most iconic b
 uilding and places following our support to JGS initiatives.\n\nIn WGW2023
 \, Suraya was interviewed by TV3 slot "Malaysia Hari Ini" a national tv st
 ation which literally translated to "Malaysia Today" to share her glaucoma
  journey and recapped an Ophthalogist statement the year before that why c
 reating this awareness is an on-going battle.\n\nThis year\, WGW2024 she w
 as invited as panel speaker to share a Patient's journey at the Opening Ce
 remony WGW2024 graced by YB Dato Lukanisman Bin Awang Sauni\, Deputy Minis
 ter of Health.\n\nThe National World Glaucoma Week celebration is an annua
 l program organized by the Malaysian Glaucoma Society (MGS) in collaborati
 on with the Malaysian Ministry of Health\, the Malaysian Society of Ophtha
 lmology\, the College of Ophthalmology\, the Malaysian Academy of Medicine
 \, the National University of Malaysia\, the University of Malaya and Univ
 ersiti Sains Malaysia . The theme of this year's celebration is "Uniting f
 or a Glaucoma-Free world" in line with the vision of the Malaysian Glaucom
 a Association.\n\nTo further established a meaningful week\, Suraya has co
 mmited to Walk for Sight in line with KKM's initiative for the nation to w
 alk 10\,000 steps daily. To show her support\, Suraya walked the extra mil
 e 20\,000 steps daily on 10-16 March 2024 through Brisk Walk Malaysia FB G
 roup at national level and PacerApp at International level creating more a
 wareness for the people who is already aware that health is wealth.  Suray
 a hopes this will open more EYES on the important of getting periodic #Get
 Tested #EyeTest for ALL.  Sharing a week's campaign of WGW this year goes 
 beyond the fundamental as Suraya cross-sharing the Power of Association wh
 ich includes mostly WGA\, WGW\, TGF\, Glaucoma UK\, WHO\, IAPB is the mess
 sage to ensure WGW2024 makes a meaningful impact towards 2030InSight anoth
 er roadmap to how important our Eyes are #LoveYourEye #EyeHealth\n\nSuraya
  will continue walk the talk... walks 10\,000 daily God's willing to ensur
 e KKM's initiative since 2009 literally materialise this year and that ano
 ther panelist sharing during the Opening ceremony\, Mr Steven Chan gets do
 ne.  The different between the panelist\, Steven has gone blind both eyes 
 while Suraya is still walking in the tunnel of Dimmess.  Between both of t
 hem\, they understand what the journey is all about. Suraya appeared in DI
 A podcast in 2022 when\, Stevens Chan the founder of DID reknown DIA invit
 ed her to talk about her Glaucoma journey. Suraya tried to tell how import
 ant WGW is that that we have a fighting chance on creating awareness.\n\nT
