DESCRIPTION:As part of World Glaucoma Week 2026\, the Oftalmoisla initiativ
 e is organizing a specialized screening day on Margarita Island\, Venezuel
 a.\nThis event will be held at the Unidad Oftalmológica of Hospital Clín
 ica del Este. Following recent clinical recommendations from the SOPLA con
 gress regarding the rising incidence of juvenile glaucoma\, we have expand
 ed our screening to include patients from 5 to 17 years old\, while mainta
 ining our core focus on the high-risk population of adults over 50. Our me
 dical team aims to provide free comprehensive eye exams to 100 pre-selecte
 d patients from these key demographic groups.\nBeyond early detection\, we
  are proud to collaborate with the Venezuelan laboratory Laboratorios Ofta
 lmi Thanks to their contribution of anti-glaucoma medications\, patients d
 iagnosed during the screening will receive their initial treatment at no c
 ost. This joint effort is dedicated to fighting preventable blindness acro
 ss all age groups through education\, specialized clinical care\, and imme
 diate access to medication.\n
