DESCRIPTION:En el marco de la Semana Mundial del Glaucoma 2026\, el Servici
 o de Oftalmología del Hospital Nacional Daniel A. Carrión (Callao\, Per
 ú) organiza una actividad educativa dirigida a pacientes y familiares con
  el objetivo de aumentar la conciencia sobre el glaucoma y promover el cui
 dado oportuno de la salud visual.\n\nLa actividad incluyó:\n• Charla in
 formativa sobre qué es el glaucoma\, sus factores de riesgo\, la importan
 cia de la detección temprana \, el tratamiento y el seguimiento periódic
 o.\n• Énfasis en la adherencia al tratamiento y la protección a largo 
 plazo de la visión.\n• Demostración práctica de la técnica correcta 
 de instilación de gotas.\n• Aplicación de un breve cuestionario antes 
 y después de la sesión para evaluar el nivel de conocimiento y el impact
 o educativo de la actividad.\n\nEsta iniciativa tuvo como finalidad mejora
 r el conocimiento de la enfermedad\, fomentar los controles preventivos y 
 reforzar el uso correcto de los tratamientos antiglaucomatosos.\n_________

 f World Glaucoma Week 2026\, the Ophthalmology Department of Hospital Naci
 onal Daniel A. Carrión (Callao\, Peru) organized an educational activity 
 aimed at patients and their families with the objective of increasing awar
 eness about glaucoma and promoting timely eye health care.\n\nThe activity
  included:\n• An informational talk about what glaucoma is\, its risk fa
 ctors\, the importance of early detection\, treatment\, and regular follow
 -up.\n• Emphasis on treatment adherence and long-term protection of visi
 on.\n• A practical demonstration of the correct eye drop instillation te
 chnique.\n• Administration of a brief questionnaire before and after the
  session to assess the level of knowledge and the educational impact of th
 e activity.\n\nThis initiative aimed to improve disease awareness\, encour
 age preventive eye examinations\, and reinforce the proper use of antiglau
 coma medications.
