DESCRIPTION:\nThe world's first glaucoma awareness dive was organised by Di
 vya Prabha Eye Hospital and Swasthi Foundation at Dive Desk Maldives with 
 support of MaldiCare Clinic on 10 March 2017. The take home message to t
 he divers was: Diving is awesome if your vision is clear. Check eyes year

 oma is called the silent killer of sight as it has no warning symptoms. It
  can be detected early by a preventive checkup while you still have good v
 ision. Scuba diving is all about taking safety measures to ensure a perfe
 ct dive and an amazing experience. Just as the diver checks his gear befor
 e every dive we must check our eyes while we have good sight to ensure tha
 t our sight lasts a lifetime. The awareness drive is to ensure perfect sig
 ht by routine timely eye checkup.\n\n\n\n_________________________________

 __\n\nREPORT\n\n\nThe divers assembled at Dive Desk\, Male' at 8am. Afte
 r checking the scuba gear they proceeded to the dive site by speed boat. T
 he team consisted of 18 scuba divers\, 15 snorkel divers\, officials from
  Dive Desk &amp\; MaldiCare Clinic and TV crew from Rajjee TV. The dive si
 te\, Kanduoiy Giri\, was one hour trip by boat.  Dr. Devin Prabhakar too
 k a class on eye care and screened everyone for glaucoma during the trip i
 n the speed boat to the dive site. The scuba divers entered the sea by gia
 nt stride technique at Kanduoiy Giri. They then dived to 60 feet below sea
  level before unfurling the glaucoma awareness dive banner and taking a gr
 oup photo. The divers requiring detailed checkup underwent the tests at Ma
 ldiCare Clinic in the evening.\n
